Tigers Sink Pirates 90-70

March 5, 2018

Memphis: Senior night in Memphis started and ended with a bang as the Tigers rolled to a 20 point win over ECU. The Tigers showed great poise throughout the game despite a sloppy start, The Tigers dominated ECU throughout the game and got a much needed win heading into the AAC tournament. The Tigers shot 34-64 from the field today for an impressive 53.1% for the day. Memphis will head down to Orlando as the number five seed facing the number twelve seed USF bulls, the same South Florida team who came into the FedEx Forum to hand the Tigers what is arguably one of the worst losses of the season in a 75-71 beat down of Memphis. The Bulls will be coming into Thursday's match up with the Tigers riding a two game winning streak with wins on the road at Memphis and a home win against SMU. ECU will be the eleven seed playing six seed UCF on Thursday, UCF won the first match up 59-39 at ECU.

Player of the game:

The AAC tournament is very top heavy with Cincinnati, Wichita State, and Houston however a team like Memphis has the talent to make a deep run down in Orlando. It will be very interesting to see how the Tigers will respond after the huge win over ECU. The major key for success in March is being your brothers keeper and playing with a new slate and the Tigers are very capable of doing such.
